AVIAGE SYSTEMS attended the Third Civil Aviation Airborne and Software Conference in Yangzhou, China, from November 27–28, 2025. The event gathered civil aviation authorities, OEMs, airlines, research institutions, and technology providers to exchange insights on airborne system innovation, software airworthiness, and future industry development.

Tony Tian, Department Leader - Chief Engineering, COMAC BU, was invited to attend the event and delivered a keynote speech titled “Research on the Means of Compliance and Future Prospects for Airborne Electronic Hardware” in the sub-forum on Innovation and Practice in Avionics Systems. His presentation received strong attention and recognition from the industry for its technical insight and practical engineering perspective.
Tony began his presentation by discussing the means of compliance for Airborne Electronic Hardware from the perspectives of different certification authorities such as CAAC, FAA, and EASA, and elaborated on the current mainstream AEH certification approaches and the main challenges they faced. Meanwhile, Tony classified Airborne Electronic Hardware into types such as Complex Electronic Hardware (SEH), Simple Electronic Hardware (SEH), Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products, and Previously Developed Hardware (PDH), respectively elaborating on the current means of compliance and certification strategies recognized by the authorities. Then, Tony introduced the development status, main updated contents and expected issue time of the updated version of DO-254, namely DO-254A. Finally, Tony, drawing on his program experience one the C919, put forward prospects for the future of certification standards for the Airborne Electronic Hardware. Tony's speech was both forward-looking and of practical guidance value, and was unanimously recognized by the avionics experts attending the conference.
