On April 16-18, 2019, the 8th Civil Avionics International Forum (CAIF) and Connected Aircraft China Congress (CACC) were held in Shanghai, over 700 guests and experts from domestic and international aviation and aerospace industry came to the event. Focusing on the future trends and emerging technologies of civil avionics, as well as to explore the new opportunities brought by connected aircraft which will be a driving force of digital transformation in the industry.

What will the future avionics look like? Any new concept will emerge in the market? How to catch the new opportunities in China? On the first day of the conference, Mr. Dong Ming, the Entrepreneur in Residence of AVIAGE SYSTEMS, gave a speech named “Avionics for Future Aviation – Automated Driving and Artificial Intelligence”, put some forward ideas on these topics. As a member of the internal entrepreneurial programs, his daily work is to find and launch new business for AVIAGE SYSTEM by studying and integrating the cutting-edge aerospace technologies with the frontier of markets. In his speech, Dong Ming introduced three trends in the near future of civil aviation: VTOL in UAM (Urban Air Mobility), the more open next generation IMA, and the path for Autonomy and AI applications.

At the CACC, Ms. Grace Jiang, Director of Business Development of AVIAGE SYSTEMS, presented how to use the In-flight Connectivity and the digital technologies to connect 4A (aircraft, airlines, airports and ATM) and build an ecosystem. Big data is turning into new productivity. On the Zhuhai Air Show last year, AVIAGE SYSTEMS announced to enter the In-flight Connectivity market with the open, all-connected and localized IFC solution, with complete data security schemes to bring efficiency and more auxiliary revenue to 4A customers. At the same time, we can integrate partners’ products and applications on this open IFC platform, to provide customized solutions for different market needs.

“AVIAGE SYSTEMS is a company based in China, but with long-term vision of going Global. Being OPEN is what we want to pursue, no matter about our product and solution design, our business model or our culture. This forum is also a great open platform for us, to learn new industry strategies and technical trends, to talk with partners and customers, to present our solutions and capabilities,” said Bai Haowei, chief commercial officer of Intercontinental Avionics.
