Aerospace Technology Week was held in Munich on March 12-13 2019, AVIAGE SYSTEMS Marketing & Business Development Team: David Irwin, Cliff Yin & Grace Jiang attended this event, sharing our avionics and In-flight Connection Solutions with the guests from different aviation sectors.

This event is the largest gathering of avionics, aircraft electronics, connectivity, aerospace testing and airline communities, with a focus on Avionics, Connected Aircraft and Aerospace Testing.  David Irwin chaired the Big Data & Cybersecurity Sessions and participated in the GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System) Multi-Constellations Panel Discussion. As part of the Avionics Expo, while Grace Jiang participated and presented in the Connection the 4 A’s (Airport, Airline, ATM and Aircraft) Session, alongside Boeing, Cobham and Virgin Altantic in the Connected Aircraft Conference.  Meanwhile, Cliff was busy making new business connections and strengthen our knowledge and exposure within the industry.  As a team, David, Grace and Cliff, reinforced AVIAGES SYSTEMS’ relationship with Boeing, especially in relation to QACVR, and discussed numerous topics, with numerous airlines, chiefly regarding IFC as well as current and future avionics needs.

The Big Data & Cyber Security Session highlighted the vulnerability of aircraft systems as the need for continuous online access for passengers and aircraft data increases.  The GNSS Multi-Constellation discussion, had interesting input from Airbus and the Global Satellite Agency, and highlighted the many benefits of each constellation as well as the pros and cons Multi-Constellation especially in the domain of jamming and spoofing.

The Connecting the 4‘s Session provided insights into how connecting the 4 A’s can really bring efficiencies to the whole system.  Grace provided an overview of AVIAGE SYSTEMS Connected Aircraft Solution covering, China’s leading position with the 4th Industrial Revolution as well as the importance of the industries need to capitalize on digital technologies, data collection and connectivity across the 4 A’s.

The team learnt about major trends in the Avionics Industry, especially in Connected Aircraft, Cyber Security, eVOTL, ADS-B in the US/EU, GADSS (Global Aeronautical Distress & Safety Systems), EFB (Electronics Flight Bag) Applications, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Commercial UAV and open systems architectures.
