Shanghai, July 24, 2025 —
At the inaugural Shanghai International Low-Altitude Economy Expo, AvioNova, a subsidiary of AVIAGE SYSTEMS, signed a procurement contract with AeroOne Aviation Technology for the ES1000 model’s Iron Bird and 101-series test aircraft. This agreement marks a significant step forward in the companies’ collaboration, transitioning from strategic alignment to concrete technical delivery and commercial readiness.

In November 2024, during the Zhuhai Airshow, AVIAGE SYSTEMS and AeroOne Aviation Technology signed an MoU to explore collaboration in the low-altitude transport sector. This newly signed contract solidifies that partnership, with AvioNova set to deliver flight control computers (FCC) and integration services for the ES1000 program, laying the groundwork for the aircraft’s certification and commercialization.
About ES1000: A New Chapter in Regional Air Logistics
The ES1000 is a large hybrid-electric, ultra-short takeoff and landing (eSTOL) unmanned cargo aircraft developed by AeroOne Aviation Technology. Designed for tonne-class payloads and ultra-short runway operations, the ES1000 showcases China’s leadership in electric aviation and promises to transform regional air logistics with its “ton-class payload, 100-meter takeoff” capability.
Its commercialization, however, places high demands on avionics and flight control systems—specifically:
- Control reliability under extreme flight conditions
- Autonomous decision-making in complex operational scenarios
- Compliance with civil aviation-grade safety certification standards
AvioNova Flight Control System: Tailored for ES1000
To meet these challenges, AvioNova will provide its AFCC-100C compact flight control computer as part of the AvioNova® avionics suite:
- Designed with dissimilar redundancy architecture
- Single module achieves data integrity above 10⁻⁹
- First application of civil aviation safety standards in unmanned cargo aircraft
- Model-Based Development Support
- Complete toolchain enables seamless transition from control models to embedded flight software
James Liu, VP of AVIAGE SYSTEMS & CEO of AvioNova:
“This agreement marks a milestone for the AvioNova FCS in the eSTOL cargo drone sector. The ES1000’s stringent safety requirements align perfectly with our strategy of applying civil aviation expertise to low-altitude markets. Through this system-level delivery, we not only support AeroOne’s commercialization but also contribute to shaping safety benchmarks for the emerging low-altitude economy.”
Dr. Qiang Xu, Chairman of AeroOne Aviation Technology:
“The ES1000 will redefine the landscape of regional cargo logistics. Our decision to partner with AvioNova stems from their deep civil aviation development expertise and agile technical response. This contract cements a robust foundation for certification and scalable deployment of the ES1000 program.”
This collaboration not only accelerates the technical maturity of eSTOL cargo aircraft but also enhances China’s global competitiveness in the electric aviation supply chain.
