Brief Description:
- The Mechanical Engineer will perform mechanical engineering design work on development of avionics equipment used on airplane and labs. The Mechanical Engineer will work with electrical/electronic engineers to develop complex electrical-mechanical assemblies and systems. Engineering work entails extensive CAD modeling and design work to create design drawings and data, requirement verification and test, product and test equipment build is also a major area of activity.
Responsibilities:
- Execute the design of mechanical projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to industrial standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements
- Create Computer Aided Design (CAD) models in a parametric model environment using Unigraphics NX, as well as to generate, check, validate and issue associated drawings.
- Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D models, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection
- Determine dimensional constraints and geometric tolerances required for proper clearances and fits while maximizing manufacturing capabilities
- Work within the guidelines of applicable company Policies & Procedures, Engineering Standards, Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards
- Support product requirement development, validation and verification. Monitor and ensure compliance with all requirements that impact mechanical hardware design throughout the design life cycle.
- Ensure all interface characteristics between components are established and agreed upon by Designers of mating parts.
- Concurrently manage multiple projects monitoring progress and quality and ensure schedule requirements are met.
- Participate in proposal development as a mechanical packaging expert, steering the mechanical design, thermal, vibration, and other environmental design philosophy in the preferred direction and advising team members of the risks related to trade study choices.
- Work closely with electrical engineer, electronics engineer, system engineer or even software engineer to design product
- Resolve problems happened in the integration testing and manufacturing
- Hands on to build/assemble test bench, test station.
- Mentoring of junior staff.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or above of Mechatronics/Electro-Mechanical/Mechanical Design.
- Minimum of 5years’ experience in mechanical design.
- Be familiar with the design of machining products, and related manufacturing processes
- Ability to independently complete the full life cycle design from requirements to concept design, detailed design, manufacturing, testing and verification, and data archiving
- Ability to independently complete 3D modeling, 2D drawings, and conduct structural and thermal analysis with FEA tools
- Experience with virtual teams, multi-site developments and working with sourced suppliers
- Document writing, spreadsheet generation and presentation skills
- Good oral and written language skills both in Chinese and English
Qualifications Desired:
- Unigraphics NX. CATIA experience
- Ansys Workbench and FloTHERM tool experience
- Experience doing tolerance stack-up analysis and applied GD&T
- Experience and skill on power module mechanical design
- Knowledge of ARINC 600, DO-254
