Brief Description:
- In this role you will be responsible for full lifecycle product development, from schematic design to prototype/products testing, production support, and be expected to independently define and execute work assignments with a strong commitment to effect short-term and long-term business goals. This role offers a great opportunity to grow your technical skills in a collaborative environment, contributing to innovative hardware solutions for avionics products.
Responsibilities:
- Work with marketing and product management to understand key business drivers, challenges, and future opportunities and solidify business plan for the assigned new business launch area;
- Work as engineer to build and iterate early experiments of new products and business models.
- Define board level functional architecture, design, develop and test electronic hardware components and systems, including schematics, PCBs and embedded system;
- Write the layout and routing constraints, provide board level layout and routing directives to external PCB layout vendor, follow up the PCB layout/routing;
- Debug and test the prototypes, perform the environmental and regulatory tests, lead to resolve all kinds of hardware issues;
- Perform circuit calculations and analysis, including but not limited to power consumption calculation, signal integrity analysis, etc.
- Resolve the issues during hardware debug and testing;
- Write the design documents, including but not limited to hardware design specification, hardware verification plan, hardware development plan, hardware test procedure, hardware verification report, hardware and software interface specification, etc.
- Work with business development / sales teams to convince potential customers about the value proposition of, source concept of operations and use cases of, the new product;
- Participate as a key reviewer in technical reviews and provide technical guidance and mentoring to team;
- Other tasks when assigned.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree or above in electronics, communications, product & industrial design or related field;
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in embedded electronics system design, implementation and verification;
- Understand system level design including mechanical, thermal, PCBA, cabling, power supply unit, firmware, etc;
- Experience in designing interface for all types of peripherals (I2C, SPI, UART, ARINC-429, RS-232/422, RS-485, CAN, Ethernet, Bluetooth, WIFI, etc.);
- Experience in using one of hardware design tools, such as Mentor, Cadence, etc;
- Experience in using lab equipment, including but not limited to oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.
- Technical and analytical skill with ability to perform electronic system trouble shooting and debug effectively;
- Have a determined mindset and personal commitment to high quality work with schedule;
- “Can-do” spirit, be able to adapt to rapid prototyping and product development, rigorous;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good teamwork adaptability, self-motivated;
- Strong Chinese (required) and English (desired) oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to organize information and make timely and sound decisions;
- Ability to consistently produce high quality work in a production environment.
Qualifications Desired:
- Working experience in avionics (DO-160G) or automotive EMI/EMC troubleshooting and qualification testing.
