Brief Description:

  • In this role, you will play a pivotal role in the development of innovative electronic circuits and systems, with staying abreast of technological advancements, and contributing to cutting-edge solutions, upon collaboration cross function, including system, software, FPGA and machinery, to ensure designs meet specifications from customer and industry standards, and to serve the market needs. You will also be responsible for conducting and optimizing the processes in order to continuously improve the product quality during the execution of programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise technical experts to develop state of the art hardware solutions (including but not limited to PCBA, digital circuits, analog circuits, microprocessor, FPGA, power supply, EMI and ESD/lightning protections, connectors, thermal and mechanical, etc.) for avionics and flight control products to meet process and certification standard
  • Perform design for excellence practice and guidance to electronics design team
  • Work closely cross product teams to develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems with strong customer mindset, so as to ensure acceptance of developed solutions
  • Work closely with avionics product Staff Engineer to meet product requirement and roadmap definition
  • Ensure the formulation and implementation of plans to achieve technical requirements, scheduling and contract commitments
  • Support effective customer communication and engagement to support quality product delivery and new opportunity pursuit
  • Coordinate design reviews with pertinent organizations and drive adherence to internal processes & procedures
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Incorporate lessons learned from previous programs
  • Other tasks assigned by team leader

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer related area
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience on embedded hardware/electronics development, integration and verification for avionics or airborne products
  • Proven experience on safety critical hardware development and certification following DO-254 standard
  • Practical and solid design experience in high-speed digital circuits, precision analog circuits, A/D, Op-Amps, DC/DC power supply, ARM based microprocessor, DDR3/4 interface, FPGA design (Verilog or VHDL), USB interface, Ethernet interface, SD card interface, video interface, etc.
  • Theoretical and practical EMI/EMC experience, proficient in the EMI/ESD and lightning protection circuits design
  • Proficient in using one of hardware design tools, such as Mentor, Cadence, etc.
  • Proficient in using simulation tools (Pspice, Multisim, etc.), calculation tools (Mathcad or equivalent) and test equipment such as Oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.
  • Good knowledge of state-of-the-art PCB technology and components
  • Excellent communication & analytical/ problem-solving skills, willingness and ability to guide and influence others
  • Fluency in written and oral English

Qualifications Desired:

  • Work experience Familiar with avionics and flight control systems and products, especially IMA (Integrated Modular Avionics), CDS (Cockpit Display System), FCS (Flight Control System), and Navigation system
  • Knowledge or experience of engineering standard: ARP-4754, ARP-4761, DO-178, DO-297, AC20-193
  • Experience of avionics bus protocols such as A664, A825, A429
  • Graphic hardware development or integration experience
  • Working knowledge in RF, Wi-Fi, wireless (4G/5G) technologies and circuits design
  • Working knowledge of component failure mode analysis, FMEA
  • Program execution experience on medium to large system development
