Brief Description:

  • The Purchasing Specialist will work closely with cross teams and will be responsible for negotiating and administering contacts and analyzing price proposals to enhance price, quality, timing and reliability of supply. You will also have autonomy to work across a wide range of initiatives to create an impact to supply chain and company.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for end-to-end processes involved in indirect purchasing, from identifying and onboarding suppliers, issuing RFP/RFQ, to monitoring deliverables and resolving invoicing issues, and everything in between. Including but not limited to activities about outsourcing services, lab, office operation related purchasing, etc.
  • Providing detailed analysis and information which may have financial impact on sourcing decisions.
  • Lead discussions and negotiations with suppliers to drive cost saving while meeting internal customers’ requirement.
  • Manager suppliers’ performance by periodic review, such as on time delivery, service quality and business efficiency.
  • Collaborate and communicate efficiently with internal and external personnel and assist in the execution of the procurement strategy.
  • Adhere to company policies, Compliance, Procurement and Finance Procedures/Instruction.
  • Identify any continuous improvement opportunities and support their implementation to drive supply chain improvements that exceed internal and external customer’s expectations.
  • Handling projects without supervision while demonstrating integrity, flexibility, and attention to detail.
  • Other tasks assigned by line manager.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or a combination of equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience as a supply chain procurement professional, indirect experience preferred.
  • Analytical skills specific to Indirect Procurement.
  • Fluent communication skills in both verbal and written.
  • Understand supply chain functions and their importance (demand/supply planning, procurement, inventory control)
  • Skilled user of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Qualifications Desired:

  • Experience with purchasing systems, Oracle is preferred
  • Experience with contract management, project management, and supplier relationship management.
  • Experience with Statement of Work, Master Service Agreements.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams regarding process establishment and/ or improvement.
  • Good negotiation skills.
