- The Engineering Service (ES) Engineer performs various activities of the Configuration Management (CM) and Data Management (DM), primarily responsible to lead CM activities of the Products.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and build the configuration management processes and standards.
- Lead generation of the documentation from numerous tools and performing the document, drawing, parts release process, in accordance with company standards.
- Identify, decompose, and implement configuration management requirements from customer and aviation administrations.
- Plan product lifecycle configuration management and write configuration management plans.
- Manage configuration identification.
- Perform configuration controls from external and internal change requirements and guide engineers in implementing configuration changes.
- Perform configuration audits.
- Generate configuration status reports.
- Review and audit supplier configuration management process and execution.
- Response to configuration audits from aviation administrations and customers.
- Define and manage configuration management tools, establish solid configuration management methods based on tools.
- Understand the differences in software, hardware, and system configuration management
- Comprehend the relationship between BOMs and production, linking engineering with manufacturing.
- Additionally, the Engineering Service (ES) Engineer shall support:
- Supporting preparation of other documentation such as policies, procedures, proposals, etc. consistent with standards and best practices.
- Configuration Management (CM): Sustain the understanding of CM best practices in accordance with EIA-649-B and CM aspects of industry standards including DO-178, DO-254, DO-297, ARP-4754A.
- Data Management (DM): Coordinating and performing formal delivery of Artifacts to customers in accordance with contractual requirements. Coordinating and performing receipt of formal deliveries of Artifacts from Suppliers.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or high school diploma/GED with at least three years’ experience in configuration management within an Engineering industry, preferable Aviation.
- Strong English language communication (specifically writing) skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Clear logical thinker with ability to follow instruction/procedures rigorously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications Desired:
- Configuration Management in accordance with EIA-649-B
- Data Management/ Business Administration
- Product Lifecycle Management tools (PTC Windchill preferred)
- Electronic publishing and printing IAW ASME14 series and S1000D
