
Brief Description:
- The Sr. Hardware Electronics role will lead the hardware mechanical development and qualification of the avionics products of AVIAGE SYSTEMS. This role will follow design assurance process and be responsible for design, develop, and verify the implementation of the entire or sub-function of an Avionics Electronics Products. The successful candidate is also expected to have strong communication skills and self-driven spirit to use his/her experience and problem-solving skills to develop practical and innovative hardware solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the activities of hardware mechanical requirement capture, design, choose the key technologies and components to meet low SWaP product design
- Capture, categorize, document and validate the hardware requirements
- Develop detailed mechanical design using CAD software
- Perform heat dissipation design and thermal analysis to meet product cooling needs
- Perform weight design and analysis to meet product weight needs
- Perform DO-160 related design and analysis together with electronics engineer to meet the product needs such as EMI, EMC, etc.
- Write mechanical documents, including but not limited to mechanical design specification, mechanical interface description, etc.
- Interact with other engineers to insure proper implementation (production engineer, hardware engineer, system engineer)
- Debug and test the prototypes, perform the environmental and regulatory tests, resolve all kinds of hardware issues
- Support project planning efforts and ensure execution to schedule and budget
- Serve as a mentor to less experienced design engineers
- Regularly meet/talk to technical vendors to refresh the technology awareness and catch up the industrial and technical trend
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years in mechanical design.
- Practical and solid mechanical design experience on avionics products.
- In-depth knowledge in mechanical design related to EMI, EMC and heat dissipation.
- Experience with designing parts for various manufacturing processes.
- Expertise in avionics products assemble and debug techniques.
- Hands-on laboratory experience is critical and required Experience in low-power design & verification methodology
- Fluent in English, both in written and oral, be able to communicate and discuss the technical issues and questions with global team in English, both in Email and on the phone
- "Can-do" spirit, be able to quickly adapt to changing environment, rigorous
Qualifications Desired:
- Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science
- Knowledge of Avionics standards: DO-254, ARP4754A, etc.
- Knowledge of VPX, ATX standard
- Avionics (DO-160G) troubleshooting and qualification testing
- Hardware certification and qualification experience
