Brief Description:

  • AVIAGE SYSTEMS provides IMA platform as the key product and serves as tier-1 IMA system integrator. The systems engineer is part of the multi-disciplinary IMA team and works consistently in practical and innovative ways for IMA platform, IMA product and IMA configuration system development, including but not limited to COMAC Part 25 aircraft programs. This role will also provide the independent evaluation and oversight on avionics/products certification for the given projects, and be responsible for certification and development aspects of avionics systems/products across the teams, provide the technical review and guidance to ensure engineering compliance to applicable CAAC/FAA/EASA regulations, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall company business strategy and capability building on certification and airworthiness areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain system level planning documents per industry standard and company process
  • Generate, maintain and update IMA platform, product and configuration system requirement and design along with system development process based on project needs
  • Design and architect system using trade studies
  • Participate as the presenter or reviewer in both AVIAGE SYSTEMS and customer milestone reviews and certification authority engagement and audit meetings
  • Interpret requirements of certification/airworthiness regulatory and industry standards and ensure internal engineering development procedures in these areas are followed.
  • Provide independent evaluation/assessment for the project to ensure EASA/CAAC/FAA regulations, regulatory standards, customer requirements, and internal design assurance requirements are met.
  • Drive certification deliverables development for the given projects
  • Coordinate certification activities in the fields of systems/products development, qualification and airworthiness, among development teams, suppliers, customer and EASA/CAAC/FAA
  • Drive/contributes to the Design Practice amendments in response to certification lessons learned.
  • Develop and lead action plans to anticipate and respond to complex problems which need cross team coordination
  • Mentor and influence others to produce approaches to meet the technical and program requirements
  • Work in collaboration with different time-zone engineering team to achieve the final assigned goal
  • Develop the knowledge and competency of fellow engineers within assigned technical and program management areas
  • Manage the execution of the tasks to meet the project schedule, cost, scope as well as ensure qualities.
  • Identify program risk and develop corrective actions for the causes that may impact program milestones

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 6 years of technical and / or engineering development experience as well as 6 years of experience of aircraft certification or avionics systems/products development and certification, especially EASA experience
  • Systems engineering experience with a safety critical system on a FAR Part 25 aircraft
  • Proven ability to lead certification projects, ability to guide and influence others.
  • Experience in aircraft avionic level requirements definition, requirements allocation, requirements management, validation, systems integration, verification and certification
  • Experience with civil aviation development standards such as ARP 4754B, DO-297 and ARP 4761A.
  • Experience in security airworthiness process and requirement of DO-326A/B and DO-356A
  • Experiences with ARINC 653, ARINC 664, ARINC 429, ARINC825 and related aviation standards
  • Be able to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization and with external customer, suppliers and cert authorities.
  • French and English language skills

Qualifications Desired:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience developing aircraft or avionics products
  • Experience developing and managing requirements for aircraft systems
  • Experience with program bidding, pursuit and joint development leading towards contract award
  • Experience with post Type Certification project including customer support and / or product sustaining
  • Familiar with the EASA Security Airworthiness Regulation (Part 21.A.239A, Part-IS & CS.25.1319)
  • Ability to achieve results in a matrix environment
  • Strong executive presence and highest level of accountability and integrity
  • Project scheduling experience and budget estimation experience
