
Brief Description:
- The Staff Engineer is expected to be a technical lead responsible for the design, development, integration and certification of flight control product and systems for AAM market. The role is expected to work closely with cross functional teams including system, HW/SW, SRMT, certification, product/program management team, etc. to deliver high quality, safety critical products to meet program goals. The role is expected to support customer and supplier engagement to pursue new opportunity and business growth for the company. As a technical lead, the role is expected to provide technical guidance or direction to the team to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This role will be responsible for not only the activities that are defined in scope, but also expected to participate in ad-hoc engineering tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Lead development of technical solutions for flight control products and systems
- Lead the certification process by preparing documentation, conducting analysis, and participating reviews and audits
- Lead product development process including but not limited to requirement definition, prototyping, architecture designs, HW/SW implementation, integration and verification to ensure compliance with process and industry standards/regulations
- Lead system or product technical proposal creation, submission, and customer communication for bid and pursuit of new program opportunity for flight control products
- Identify and engage with suppliers and partners for product selection and development
- Enforces compliance with S&RMT, Certification, DQA, ES processes and standards, sharing best practices and technical guidance across the Organization
- Define and implement plans to meet technical requirements, scheduling, and project objectives
- Oversee project execution to ensure project goals are met with quality
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer related area
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in managing customer programs of developing safety critical products for civil aircrafts
- Knowledge and experience of configuration management, SRMT management, Design quality assurance following ARP4754A and ARP4761
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills, willingness and ability to guide and influence others
- Ability to engage and build positive relationships with both internal and external customers and suppliers
- Strong project management skills
- Fluency in written and oral English
Qualifications Desired:
- Familiar with airworthiness regulations and industry standards, policies and procedures.
- Experience of industry standards: DO-178B, DO-254, and DO-160
- Work experience of related aircraft systems such as IMA, Display, etc. and knowledge of flight operations
- Extensive program execution experience from medium to large system development
