Brief Description:

• The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for hardware mechanical development and qualification for avionics products of AVIAGE SYSTEMS. This role will follow AVIAGE SYSTEMS HW process and design assurance standard to design, develop, and verify avionics electronics products. The successful candidate is also expected to have strong communication skills and self-driven spirit to use his/her experience and problem-solving skills to develop practical and innovative hardware solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Perform hardware mechanical requirement capture, design, and key technology and component selection to meet low SWaP product design requirement
• Detailed mechanical design using CAD software
• Perform heat dissipation design and thermal analysis to meet product cooling requirement
• Perform weight design and analysis to meet product weight requirement
• Perform DO-160 related design and analysis together with electronics engineer to meet the product requirement such as EMI, EMC, etc.
• Develop mechanical design documents, including but not limited to mechanical design specification, mechanical interface description, etc.
• Debug and test the prototypes, prepare test equipment, perform environmental and regulatory tests, and resolve all kinds of hardware issues
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years in mechanical design
• In-depth knowledge in mechanical design related to EMC and thermal analysis
• Experience with designing parts for various manufacturing processes
• Expertise in avionics product assemble and debug techniques
• Hands-on laboratory experience
• Good sense of teamwork
• Fluent in both written and oral English communication

Qualifications Desired:

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related fields
• Knowledge of avionics standards: A825, A429, A664, DO-254, ARP4754, etc.
• Knowledge of VPX, ATX standard
• Avionics (DO-160G) troubleshooting and qualification testing
• Hardware electronics design and verification experience is a plus
• Hardware certification and qualification experience
