Brief Description:

• The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for FPGA and hardware development of avionics products for AVIAGE SYSTEMS. This role will follow AVIAGE SYSTEMS HW standard and design assurance standard to design, develop, and verify avionics electronics products. The successful candidate is also expected to have strong communication skills and self-driven spirit to use his/her experience and problem-solving skills to develop practical and innovative hardware solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Define FPGA architecture of RTL functions and design solution according to product requirements
• Perform estimations on FPGA resources, timing, computing bandwidth and memory bandwidth
• Perform FPGA RTL design (VHDL/Verilog/SV), simulation and synthesis to timing closure
• Perform overall hardware design, layout and key component selection
• Perform hardware bring-up and testing, prepare test cases, test equipment, perform tests, troubleshooting and resolve hardware issues
• Develop hardware design and verification documents and reports
• Perform DO-160 related design, analysis and testing to meet the product requirement such as EMI, EMC, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years in hardware FPGA design and RTL coding (VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog)
• In-depth knowledge in using VIVADO for IP instantiation, synthesis and implementation
• Understand standard protocol interfaces, i.e. DDR, PCIe, RGMII, SPI, CAN FD, etc.
• Experience with RTL quality check
• Experience of hardware electronics design, implementation and verification
• Experience of DO-160 related hardware designs and qualification testing
• Experience of using test & debug equipment, i.e. soldering, oscilloscope, logical analyzer, etc.
• Good sense of teamwork
• Good English written and oral communication skills

Qualifications Desired:

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related fields
• Knowledge of avionics standards: A825, A429, A664, DO-254, DO-178B, ARP4754, DO-297, etc.
• Hardware certification and qualification experience on avionics
• Project lead or management experience
