Brief Description:

• The senior engineer works consistently in practical and innovative ways towards defined goals. In this role you will be responsible for work that is defined or less defined in scope, but also be expected to independently define and execute work assignments as well as making sound technical decisions, guiding others in execution. You will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and have the ability to effect short-term and long-term business goals.

Responsibilities:

• Independently or lead group responsibility for the execution of design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and judgement and adhering to business/industrial standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
• Coach and influence others to produce approaches to achieve goals
• Lead execution of plans to achieve technical requirements, scheduling, budgeting, and contractual commitments
• Develop and lead action plans to anticipate and respond to complex problems which need cross team coordination
• Work in collaboration with necessary parties and global engineering teams to achieve the team/project/business goal
• Translate product characteristic to the concrete FPGA/ASIC architecture requirements and design solutions
• Lead the activities of FPGA/ASIC requirements capture, architecture definition, design, synthesis, place & route and timing analysis
• Lead the activities of FPGA/ASIC RTL test bench generation, RTL/gate level simulation, physical testing on target board
• Lead team to complete FPGA/ASIC device integration and verification with hands-on experience in product integration, testing, and debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers; resolve the issues found during the integration/verification
• Work closely with hardware and software engineers to integrate FPGA design into module
• Create technical document for the FPGA/ASIC product development, meet development process and certification requirement
• Provide consultation and technical direction to the logic device development and certification
• Provide engineering support on FPGA/ASIC performance, cost reduction and quality initiatives
• Define board level functional architecture, choose the key technologies and components
• Design and capture schematics, lead the hardware design reviews
• Write hardware documents, including but not limited to hardware design specification, hardware verification plan, hardware development plan, hardware test procedure, hardware verification report, hardware and software interface specification, etc.
• Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
• Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years in FPGA/ASIC front-end/back-end design and electronics system design.
• Practical and solid design experience on FPGA/ASIC design (Verilog or VHDL), digital circuits, A/D, Op-Amps, DC/DC power supply, ARM Cortex A53 or later version based microprocessor, DDR3/4 interface, Ethernet interface, etc.
• Familiar with ARINC 664 End System/Switch development.
• Familiar with COTS SoC architecture.
• Fluent in English, both in written and oral, be able to communicate and discuss the technical issues and questions with global team in English, both in Email and on the phone
• Specific experience of working with one or more of the following standards: ARINC 664, ARP4754, DO297, DO254.

Qualifications Desired:

• Master's degree in Engineering.
• Strong RTL coding skills and knowledge: DMA, Memory, RAM/ROM, PLLs, and some knowledge of low-level communication protocols: AFDX, CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, etc.
• Hardware certification experience.
• Ability to independently achieve results in a cross-functional environment.
• Specific experience of using Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) IP.
• Specific experience of working within some of the following development lifecycle phases: Requirements Capture, Design, Integration, Verification.
